What we do for our kids
I swore I wouldn't ever be one of those crazy parents rummaging through stores just before Christmas searching for some mega popular gift for their child, sort of like I'm sure my parents swore they wouldn't do but probably ended up doing to score those Cabbage Patch Kids my sister and I got for Christmas one year in the mid 80's. And yet there I was last night, running into 7 different stores, making phone calls, and begging some nice young lady at customer service at Best Buy to PLEASE hold the one iDog Amp'd left in the state for my daughter and I will come right in and pick it up, thank you.
Spending 6 hours shopping 2 days before Christmas is probably equivalent to being in Hell. Except it was cold and rainy here, which really just made it worse then Hell. At least in Hell I wouldn't be cold and wet.
I remember getting that Cabbage Patch doll on that Christmas in the 80's. I don't remember his name (yes my parents got me a boy doll) but I do remember he had lovely blond curly hair and blue eyes. A few years later I shaved all that hair off of him. But on that Christmas day I remember being thrilled that I was the proud owner of one very coveted Cabbage Patch. Tomorrow morning, when Brianna opens up her iDog, I hope she finds the same joy that I did back then. If she does, those 7 stores, phone calls, traffic, and lines in Best Buy will be worth it.
Thank God my kids didn't ask for this for Christmas!
Best Christmas Movie Ever!
I should drop out of nursing school and head here.
Merry Christmas!!

I still have my Cabbage Patch! Her name is Carrie Pammy!! I loved her sooooo much! Those were the best!
I am so glad you found Brianna an iDog. I hope she loves it!
Oh, and good find on the elf story! :)
Ok, I can see why you wanted to shave that baby's head! LOL Your post reminded me of the Furby? Those were like insanely popular one year and my co-worker won one from a radio station -- she had people offering her like tons of money for it!
Glad you found the I-dog/amp thingy, it is so cute!
